Laura Morales – Legal Assistant
Laura Morales is a “Dreamer.” Born in Guatemala, she was brought to the United States when she was just nine months old. Laura was raised in Brentwood, New York, and then came to Durham NC in 2007 to raise her own children. As a mother of three, the past few years have been dedicated to them as a mostly-stay-at-home mother, though she has also been an entrepreneur, running a business with her husband. Now, having joined the firm in 2018 as a receptionist, she is looking to fulfill her own dreams as well as to help others fulfill theirs. For Laura, the most exciting part of her job is meeting people from different cultures. Her main goal is to help hard-working people achieve their goals for their families; however, with a special place in her heart for all children, she particularly wants every child to have the life they deserve, without fear, able to feel safe where they live, learn, and play.
Nicole Aldana Palacios – Legal Assistant
Nicole is an ambitious seeker of holistic success, with a hunger for personal and professional development. She was born in El Salvador and brought to the United States when she was one year old. Nicole was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has a passion for helping others, as well as a passion for entrepreneurship. Coming from a family of business owners, she is looking forward to following in her family’s footsteps. She believes there’s no sweeter gift than helping others achieve their goals and dreams. Nicole previously worked for an immigration law firm as a paralegal, and she joined our firm in 2020.
Izamar Ramirez Garcia (“Izzy”) – Legal Assistant
Izzy was born in Mexico and has lived in the United States since the age of 4. Raised in Durham, NC. Izzy is a proud graduate of Durham School of the Arts. Izzy previously worked as a legal assistant for a Family Law Firm. In her free time Izzy enjoys going on long walks with her four-legged children and spending time with her Family.
Jan Marie “Jamie” Bazemore, MSW – Adoptions Paralegal
Jamie has spent her entire career focused on the needs of families in NC. Jamie served as the Program Manager for Adoption Services for the NC Division of Social Services for 5 years, overseeing all aspects of adoption programming in NC from adoption policy and record retention to adoptive family recruitment and post adoption services. Jamie also served as an Adoption Social Worker and the Placement Supervisor at Chatham County DSS for 8 years. Jamie brings both experience and personal insight into the need of families adopting in NC.
As a trained social worker, Jamie takes a detailed and personal approach to all of the adoptions she facilitates and commits to supporting families throughout the adoption process start to finish. She ensures each family feels knowledgeable about the adoption process as well as valued and respected as a family system. Jamie is a passionate advocate for all types of adoptive families.
Jamie received her BSW from Appalachian State University in 2005 and her MSW from UNC Chapel Hill in 2006. In addition to providing contracted paralegal services for adoptions, Jamie is also a Senior Consultant at CCR Consulting, a human services consulting firm in North Carolina. She is a lifelong resident of Raleigh, where she lives with her wife, Tiffany, and two sons.
Heather J. Bolduc – NC Certified Paralegal
Heather received her paralegal degree from Durham Technical Community College in 2021, and is certified by the North Carolina State Bar. She is passionate about helping families and individuals with their immigration needs. She grew up in New England, and has spent the past ten years in the Triangle enjoying the beautiful weather. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her family and their labradoodle.
